Each week, the foundation of the Teen Badminton Club is to meet and have fun playing badminton together! Our Club is all about playing and learning badminton recreationally, helping players improve with their skills with good coaching, while learning leadership along the way. Currently, we have 3 locations for Teens aged 10-19 to play, which support directly these local communities as well as the teams of 20+ high schools for students seeking more badminton. We also are proud to run afterschool badminton programs in primary schools in Montreal as well as other activities (charity fundraisers, team-bonding events, etc.) Wherever and whenever we play, we have fun! New to our club are the Junior Birdies and the Family Club!
What makes the Teen Badminton Club so special is that it's about people, specifically teens! The TBC is all about what makes teens tick! That's why we want to make sure teens have a place to call their own, socialise, celebrate, be healthy, and be active through badminton! From our great weekly club feel, to our social outings and badminton tournaments, bonding and creating lasting friendships through our badminton club is the TBC. We focus our efforts to develop players athletically, socially, and as individuals for life.
Each year, the English public and private schools of Montreal, including LBPSB and EMSB students, have their badminton season in February, March and April, organised by the GMAA. Our goal is to be a really good support program for these participating students by enabling them to have a place to play and learn badminton throughout the year. In addition, we are there to support them as they develop as players and help them achieve their GMAA badminton goals, whether it be to make their school teams, to improve their results, or to qualify for their scholastic Provincial Team. Lastly, in March and April, we proudly help house and coach the GMAA Provincial Team for their yearly Provincial Team tournament in April. Go GMAA!
Ready to start competing in a real badminton tournament? Each year, we host 2 recreational tournaments in Montreal to give our players an introduction to junior badminton competition!
